The Junior Reef Squad (Jr’s): Jellies (2-Year-Olds) and Nemos (3-Year-Olds)

Driftwood’s youngest Campers, known as the Junior Reef Squad, begin each day in air-conditioned cabanas. Every program is tailored to the age and needs of the group. Our loving, nurturing, and experienced Staff create a safe, supportive environment where children can enjoy a wide variety of activities and experiences.

Through creative, age-appropriate activities led by our professional, experienced specialists, our Jr’s develop fine and gross motor skills, communication and language abilities, cognitive and listening skills, social-emotional growth, and sensory awareness. Driftwood offers specialized activities such as sensory art, sensory gym, and athletics that allow them to utilize their senses.

Jellies and Nemos are supported by dedicated teams trained in Early Childhood Education. Division Leaders are preschool-trained, experienced Driftwood Staff members who oversee each Group and are always available to provide guidance. Group Leaders have backgrounds in Early Childhood Education and childcare, remain with Campers throughout the day, and provide parents with regular updates. Counselors offer each child hands-on care, encouragement, and nurturing support.

Communication & Camper Profiles

For many members of the Junior Reef Squad, Driftwood is their first Camp experience. We prioritize open, two-way communication between families and Camp because a strong partnership helps create a successful summer for every Camper.

Before Camp begins, parents and guardians complete a Camper Profile. Our Directors, Division Leaders, and Group Leaders carefully review each profile. Group Leaders then contact every family to learn more about their Camper, including their personality, interests, routines, and individual needs.

Throughout the summer, families receive daily photos, daily recap emails, and weekly phone calls. At Driftwood, we celebrate every milestone—from putting their head underwater to trying a chicken nugget for the first time. When it happens, you can expect a photo!
