Fourth and Fifth Grade

Our programs for fourth- and fifth-grade Campers build confidence, strengthen friendships, and encourage greater independence. Campers have opportunities to make choices, explore their interests, take on new challenges, and develop the skills that will prepare them for their preteen summers.

Day Trips

A few times each summer, Campers participate in supervised day trips. These experiences give them a sense of independence while allowing them to enjoy new activities with their friends and Staff in a safe and supportive environment.

Full Day Program

The Full Day Program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A typical day includes instructional swim, recreational swim, lunch, and a full schedule of engaging activities.

Communication & Camper Profiles

We prioritize open, two-way communication between families and Camp because a strong partnership helps create a successful summer for every Camper.

Before Camp begins, parents and guardians complete a Camper Profile. Our Directors, Division Leaders, and Group Leaders carefully review each profile. Group Leaders then contact every family to learn more about their Camper, including their personality, interests, routines, and individual needs.

Throughout the summer, families receive daily photos, daily recap emails, and weekly phone calls. At Driftwood, we celebrate every milestone.

Swim & Food

Swim instruction takes place in dedicated pools and is led by experienced, Red Cross-certified instructors who are specially trained to teach these age groups.

Campers receive a morning snack, hot lunch, and afternoon snack, with allergy-friendly alternatives always available. Driftwood maintains a peanut- and tree-nut-free environment.
